What do you do when you enter a committee?

  1. Look around for your ally countries and try to chat them up
  2. Try to find the best looking delegates and sit near them
  3. Try to find a seat which keeps you invisible
  4. Try to sit in the front rows

When the first day of the Conference is over, you:

  1. Go out for drinks with your fellow delegates
  2. Go out for drinks and never actually go back to your room, directly land up in the committee
  3. Try to decipher your notes, the points other delegates made, and how to reply to them
  4. Go out for a coffee or casually talk to other delegates

What is your MUN style?

  1. A really chic, semi-formal dress or a mellow suit
  2. Bright and striking shades or a very noticeable accessory
  3. Prim and proper formals, strictly as mentioned in various prep sites
  4. Polished and neat, usually all black or another dark colour

You speeches are always:

  1. You try to suggest solutions and simplify everything, you don’t hesitate in taking a stand
  2. Your speeches make everyone drop their pens and listen, you usually try to attack other countries stances
  3. You speak in perfect parliamentary language, without much attention to dramatization
  4. You remain diplomatic in your speeches and quote a lot of Articles, and previous resolutions

During a crisis:

  1. You stay calm and try recalling all your previous MUNs and hope you have a similar agenda
  2. You dominate the room pointing out obvious things very dramatically
  3. You try to find a resolution quickly because you want to resume with the normal committee and finally make the speech you had finished preparing
  4. You try to fit in the points and articles you had prepared into the crisis situation, somehow managing to justify them

After an MUN:

  1. You have a lot of friends who you get really close to.
  2. Your contact list has a lot of Japans and Chinas
  3. You have a few MUN friends who you consult for tips
  4. You shake hands with all the new people you met and go back to your life, hardly remembering their names

After your first MUN, there was no looking back. You love MUNs for the amazing socializing opportunity they offer. You love meeting delegates, all impeccably dressed. You are a problem solver and try to find feasible solutions directly, without paying much heed to declarations and formalities. You are usually a bloc leader and unmods are your favourite because you can lobby like a boss! Every MUN needs people like you to get resolutions passed!

Mostly Bs

You come for MUNs as a time-out from daily life. You are smart enough to use general knowledge and mould them into a breathtaking speech. You like being the center of attention, and you get it because of your unnatural charm. You have done too many MUNs and are remembered everywhere, even though you might not remember what you did there! Every MUN needs you to bring an element of fun in the drab proceedings.

Mostly Cs

This is probably your first MUN. You would have researched thoroughly. You are probably also among the few who can make out when the more experienced delegates are bluffing, if so, don’t hesitate and call them out! You don’t lobby much but pick your blocs carefully. Your speeches are well structured and have the most sensible content, if you say them without looking into your notes, a high commendation is your way! Every MUN needs you to neutralize the drama and bring the debate to the right track.

Mostly Ds

You are well prepared and well dressed and have impeccable vocabulary which intimidates everyone, and you know it. You mean business and talk in crisp clear tones. You find socials lame and prefer not to go hungover to committees. You address everyone as Delegate of Someplace and hardly ask for their names and your politeness warms people up to you. You try to stay neutral and pick blocs at the last minute. Every MUN, especially chairs, need you because of your no-shit policies.

We hope to see all of you at Atharv- The International Model UN Conference 2015!
